I have been told by numerous health care professionals to NOT feed your infant cereal until they are 6 months old. They simply aren't ready for it until then, because they can't digest it properly. (He does not show any symptoms of a problem!)
Although I had been feeding it to him for quite some time, I stopped because I was feeling guilty about it. They made me feel like I was a bad Mom! Ashamed to tell anyone that I was doing it. I do not intend to feed him anything other than rice cereal mixed with breast milk (still thin) until after the 6 month mark, but I have to let him eat it.... he LOVES it!
See for yourself...
LOL -- I was thinking he's like a baby bird and then Andy started chirping!! Such a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteDo what works and don't let people make you feel guilty.
ReplyDeleteAnd did he get a haircut??
Nope, no haircut. Not sure if his hair just fell out in some spots more than others, or if his head just grew to make it look shorter?
ReplyDeleteHe loves it so much! He totally looked like he was ready to grab the spoon and feed himself.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't let anyone make you feel guilty. Our PED recommended started rice cereal between 4 and 6 months. Every doctor is different. Every mother is different. Every baby is different.
